Bluesnarfing is a new cyber crime where some uses a wi-fi lap top with a Bluetooth connection to search for other nearby Bluetooth connections. If the user hasn't protected their data the person can download all of their names addresses and phone numbers from their contact list. They can even down load to do lists and personal calendars. Recently a demonstration was done in Britan's house of Parliament, where someone was able to gain access to the personal data of some very high ranking government officials.Toothing started out as an innocent way to talk and flirt with other nearby Bluetooth equipped cellular users anonymously. However it can also be used for eavesdropping. A hacker can gain access to your phone have it call their phone allowing you to use there cellular minutes and here there entire conversation without them knowing about it. Imagine if it was being done while you were in sensitive business meeting or other very personal conversation.To protect yourself from this type of attack, close down your Bluetooth connection when you aren't using it.
